Fabulous late 19th century sterling silver 5-piece hors d'oeuvres /afternoon tea service, complete with original presentation box, by renowned Parisian silversmith Henri SOUFFLOT. This beautiful service features exquisitely detailed floral decorated handles, with ornate foliate & scroll mounts. The sugar sifter, flat server, 4-pronged fork and serving spoon, have elaborate pierced and engraved ends, and knife blade is finely engraved with scrolling floral motifs. Monogrammed 'G.P'.
Beautifully crafted from the highest quality silver, each piece is stamped with the French Minerve 950 mark, and maker's mark for SOUFFLOT, (initials 'H.S', rising sun & star), active in 1884, rue de Turbigo, Paris. Excellent condition. The lid of the satin & velvet-lined presentation box is gold-tooled/embossed with the same initials as the service.
